Snapshots

Updated: May 25, 2020

Every year presents itself differently.

Each season delivers joy and pain—both expected and unexpected, welcomed and unwelcome.

Life happens.

Every year flies by faster than the last.

Instagram and social media is for life’s highlights. For the most part it exists to showcase our #Rockwellian moments—leaving out the lows that shaped and created the whole story and allowed for the smiles and good fortune.

Snapshots are just that... #snapshots ... fun to share, fun to see, sometimes enviable ...

2019 for the #donahuecrew had more than its fair share of gut punches. I didn’t share those on IG...not because I didn’t want people to see them, but because the platform for my life-lows is up-close and in person and not social.

What I did share, however, were some highlights in between and amongst the pain and sorrow, disappointment, grief, illness and struggle.

Many times I have shared the wise words of sages, prophets, mere mortals and the Holy Bible...

there is no joy without sorrow, and there is no sorrow without joy...

light cannot be seen without darkness, darkness cannot reveal itself without light— neither exists without the other.

That said, here on the blog are a few of our family’s high”lights” from 2019.

They don’t tell the whole story, but they are representatives of some of the moments that got us through our trials and guided us toward The Light.

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness doesn’t extinguish the light.” John 1:5 CEB

Here’s to your #2020 highlights.

May God use those moments to hit home runs when life throws you curveballs.
